Gujarat Heritage & Shakti Peeth Darshan -05 Nights / 06 Days

Day 1: Ahmedabad Arrival

Arrive at Ahmedabad and check in to your hotel. Later, enjoy a sightseeing tour of Ahmedabad:

● Gandhi Ashram: Situated on the serene banks of the Sabarmati River, this retreat was founded by Mahatma Gandhi in 1915. It became the nerve centre of India’s freedom movement. From here, in 1930, Gandhi embarked on the historic Dandi March. The ashram houses Hridaya Kunj (his residence), preserved as it was during his time. Don’t miss the Ashram shop for souvenirs.
● Hutheesingh Jain Temple: Built in 1850, this temple is one of Ahmedabad’s most exquisite Jain temples, renowned for its intricate carvings.
● Adalaj Stepwell: A stunning example of Indo-Islamic architecture, this stepwell served as a water reservoir, resting place for travellers, and a rainwater harvesting system.
● Vaishnodevi Temple: A popular spiritual site modeled after the Vaishnodevi Temple in Jammu & Kashmir.

Overnight stay at Ahmedabad.

Day 2 Ahmedabad – Ambaji – Ahmedabad

After breakfast, proceed for a full-day excursion to Ambaji Temple.
● Ambaji Temple: One of the 51 major Shakti Peethas of India, this temple is unique as it houses no idol, but a holy Yantra. The shrine is aligned with the Gabbar Hill caves, considered the original abode of Goddess Ambaji. During Navratri, thousands of devotees gather here to seek blessings.

Later, return to Ahmedabad. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 3 Ahmedabad – Pavagadh – Ahmedabad

After breakfast, enjoy a day trip to Pavagadh.

● Pavagadh Mahakali Temple: Situated on a hill near Champaner, this revered Shakti Peeth is believed to be the spot where the left breast of Goddess Sati fell. Pilgrims from across India visit this temple dedicated to Goddess Mahakali. The site also offers panoramic views of the surrounding region.

Later, return to Ahmedabad. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 4 Ahmedabad – Chotila – Rajkot

After breakfast, drive to Rajkot via Chotila Hills.

● Chotila: Located on the Ahmedabad–Rajkot Highway, this site is home to the temple of Goddess Chamunda atop a hill (1173 ft). Pilgrims climb to seek blessings of the deity.
● On arrival at Rajkot, visit:
○ Kaba Gandhi No Delo: The house where Mahatma Gandhi spent part of his childhood, now showcasing memorabilia of his life.
○ Rajkumar College: One of the oldest schools in India, where Gandhi completed his secondary education.

Overnight stay at Rajkot.

Day 5 Rajkot – Junagadh

After breakfast, proceed to Junagadh via Girnar Hills.
● Mount Girnar: A sacred mountain (1100 m high) with a cluster of ancient Jain temples dating from the 12th to 15th century. Pilgrims climb thousands of steps to reach the summit.
● Neminath Temple: A marble temple dedicated to the 22nd Tirthankara.
● Mallinath Temple (1177): Known for its impressive carvings.
● Ambaji Temple (Girnar): Believed to guarantee a happy marriage.
● Dattatreya Temple: Situated at the hilltop, offering scenic views.

Overnight stay at Junagadh.

Day 6 Junagadh – Ahmedabad (Departure)

After breakfast, drive back to Ahmedabad. On arrival, transfer to the airport or railway station for your onward journey.
